How a wash works

  1. Manual pre-wash

Before you enter the lane, our wash experts remove stubborn dirt from the front and rear by hand. That abrasive dirt is exactly what would otherwise cause scratches.

  2. 6 lasers measure your car

The installation scans the shape and dimensions of your car, so the brushes know precisely where to be and at what pressure, from the mirrors to the tailgate.

  3. Washing with textile brushes

Our brushes are textile and stay saturated with water and shampoo throughout. They glide over the paint rather than scrubbing across it.

  4. Rinsing with osmosis water

The final rinse uses completely lime-free osmosis water, so your car dries spotless even if you drive straight into the sun.

  5. Drying

Powerful blowers and soft drying aids take the water off. After 6 to 7 minutes you drive back out.

What you do before driving in

Six things, and the lane handles the rest.

  1. 1Fold in your wing mirrors.
  2. 2Retract or unscrew a protruding aerial.
  3. 3Switch off your wiper rain sensor.
  4. 4Put the car in neutral and do NOT apply the handbrake.
  5. 5Leave the engine running and keep your feet off the pedals.
  6. 6Do not steer or brake, the conveyor does the work.

Frequently asked questions about the wash tunnel

What are the opening hours of Excellent Carwash Sloten?

The wash tunnel is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Our self-service wash bays and vacuum square are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

What is the maximum vehicle height?

Our wash tunnel handles vehicles up to 2.00 metres high. In the self-service bays you can wash vehicles up to 3.00 metres high, which covers most vans and campervans.

Will the wash tunnel scratch my car?

No. Because we pre-wash your car by hand before it enters the wash tunnel, the abrasive dirt is removed first. On top of that all our brushes are textile and stay soaked with water, so they cannot scratch the paint.

Can I take my convertible through the wash tunnel?

Yes. Our waxes and drying aids are set up so that a convertible roof is not damaged. Your soft top actually gains an extra protective layer and a deeper shine.

Is your car wash environmentally friendly?

Yes. We wash with fully biodegradable shampoos and waxes. We have our own groundwater source, capture all dirty water and treat it with softening and osmosis filters. Washing your car on the street, by contrast, sends oil and dirt straight into the sewer.

How long does it take to wash my car?

Allow 6 to 7 minutes from the moment you enter the wash tunnel, including the manual pre-wash.

What should I do when I drive into the wash tunnel?

Fold in your mirrors, retract the aerial and switch off your wiper rain sensor. Put the car in neutral, do not apply the handbrake and leave the engine running. Do not steer or brake during the wash; the conveyor does the work.

Can my microcar or Canta go through the wash tunnel?

Yes. At Langsom 2 in Amsterdam microcars can go through the wash tunnel, including Canta, Aixam, Ligier, Microcar, Chatenet, Bellier, Grecav, Casalini, JDM, M.go, MC1, MC2 and Virgo.
